Clear skin starts with knowing what is the right skincare for your skin. In this blog we will cover common questions and share information to help you live confidently with clear, healthy skin.

How Climate Affects Your Skincare

Are you trying to achieve your dream, glowing, healthy skin?

You might want to start building your skincare routine based on the biggest factor of your skin’s health - your climate.

Our earth’s climate can be classified into three different categories: tropical, temperate and polar zones. Each zone affects our skin differently and requires us to adjust our skincare.

First up, the tropical zones.

Tropical climates have hot temperatures throughout the year. There is no clear season change due to the amount of constant sun exposure.

Skincare Concern: In tropical climates, acne is easily formed due to the increase of oils. People living in these areas are also likely to suffer from large pores, rough skin texture, stronger sebum secretion, and increasing stratum corneum thickness. This generally results skin concerns around oil production, acne, and spots.

Due to these concerns, we recommend adding these ingredients to your routine:

Centella Asiatica

  • Boosts your skin’s natural healing process to prevent acne scars

  • Calms irritation and inflammation

  • Boosts local antioxidants to reduce the fungal acne growth

  • Helps skin retain moisture and build up cell wall density for tight and tiny pores

  • Nourishes skin from the inside to plump up skin for a smooth, healthy look

  • Reduces the damage caused by UV rays and protects the skin

  • Also known as vitamin B3, works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly improve uneven skin tone, dullness, and a weakened surface

  • Reduces pigmentation concerns including dark spots and uneven skin tones

  • Treats moderate acne while reducing inflammation from acne and rosacea

Green Tea

  • Increases benzoic acid levels that are used to treat skin damage from UV rays

  • Reduces pimple count up to 50%, according to medical studies

  • Delivers tannins that control sebum and oil production

Next, temperate zones.

Temperate climates have all four seasons. The day time temperature is generally lower and the amount of daylight varies on the season.

Skincare Concern: The skin is oily in the summer and dry/dehydrated in the winter. Due to the changing seasons, our skin is more prone to allergic reaction and requires regular changes to skincare routine. These concerns are generally around skin barrier health with hydration, inflammation care, and anti-damage.

Due to these concerns, we recommend adding these ingredients to your routine:

chamomile axis y seasons

  • Relieves itching and inflammation of the skin caused by environmental factors

  • Reduces the appearance of blemishes and bacteria

  • Regenerate glutathione, an antioxidant that stops UV damage

Lastly the polar zones.

In the polar zone, the temperature is even lower, daytime length changes the most, and there are no obvious changes in the seasons.

Skincare Concern: Skin can be white and freckled and is especially prone to dry skin and wrinkles. Here skin requires additional hydration and anti-damage.

Due to these concerns, we recommend adding these ingredients to your routine:

Sweet Almond Oil

  • Protects skin from oxidative stress and UV damage using Vitamin E

  • Deeply clears pores and dislodges debris

  • Reduces acne flare-ups with the help of Vitamin A
